Slow Flow Yoga and Yoga Nidra

Slow Flow Yoga consists of sequences that link breath and asana (any type of pose or position, adding reclining, standing, inverted, twisting, and balancing poses). The movement in this gentle but powerful class is of a similar pace to tai chi. Moving slowly in and out of postures allows us to really feel into the alignment of a pose and be guided by our own bodies. The slow fluid movemements build strength, allow us to breathe deeply and are very soothing for the mind.

Yoga Nidra involves lying comfortably on the floor in a cosy room with a blanket covering your body. Yoga Nidra has a specific formula which the instructor uses to guide you into a deeply relaxed state, and uses the body and images as concentration points. In Yoga Nidra it is possible to relax at all levels: the body, breath, senses and the conscious and unconscious parts of the mind are all soothed and calmed. In deep relaxation the parasympathetic nervous system response is stimulated so that the body can rest, repair and heal.

Yoga Nidra also stimulates dopamine production, leading to increased contentment and bliss. The combination of Slow Flow Yoga and Yoga Nidra in this unique class will leave you strong, serene and aware. It is a lovely gift to yourself.
