Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy at Calmblue involves a chat about what problems you are experiencing and what you are hoping to achieve, an assessment of your problem areas, a postural assessment and a discussion about what would be the best treatment to help you achieve your aims and why. Your own input about what your treatment needs are (gentle, strong, or hands off) or if you have a particular instinct about what your own body needs, is important and respected.

The physiotherapy profession was built on massage but now involves a myriad of ways of assessing and treating, tailored to the client’s needs and wants. Of these, Marie-Anne can offer Deep Tissue and Therapeutic Massage, including Trigger Point Therapy and Myofascial techniques, where appropriate, soft tissue mobilisation, muscle energy techniques, appropriate muscle stretching, appropriate muscle strengthening for muscle power, endurance or plyometrics, joint mobilisations (Maitland and Mulligan), neurodynamic testing and treatment (Butler), taping and strapping, advice and home exercises. Marie-Anne provides written exercises and advice after the session; usually sent electronically, but it can be on paper as needed. On subsequent visits, she will listen to you, reassess the problem area to see if you are progressing smoothly to your goal, treat again, and support your rehabilitation until your goals are achieved. She also has more than 10 years experience in helping elderly people restore their functional fitness, and of providing rehabilitation after stroke.

Payment accepted by bank transfer or cash. If you need to cancel a booking, please let us know 48 hours before your session to avoid cancellation charges.
